From the world of the wrestling as a fan and as a person inside of it you get a different view of things.  I got a vhs tape from a fellow wrestler on the side of the tape it said ECW Fan Cam. It was a house show from Scranton,PA I was very pleased.

I have always been a big fan of the original ECW. I have met a lot of great people from the original ECW and I have made some great friendships from these meetings. Now that I have started watching these tapes I see it as one of the greatest marketing ideas ever in the wrestling business and when you see what I am saying about this happening again after ECW you will see why it’s a great idea.

So you have a promotion not really well known. You get a video company to tape your house shows with 1 camera at ringside and release the tapes by the next show. You know what this is, marketing genius. Cause people will neve rmiss a step and at the same time people get to see things that are not usually on the mainstream market. I think this may have had a lot to do with ECWs future cause even a new fan that was going to the school gym or bingo hall to see a night of wrestling could sit there and catchup alot on a video cassette and get the memory of this show at the next show.

So post ECW this same idea came out in another promotion when it started… ROH aka Ring of Honor. So the same company that brought you the ECW FanCams brings you Ring of Honor with a few other people. And guess what a huge portion of ROH’s popularity was that their DVDs, VHS whatever were sold at almost every Indy show out there. You could goto IHPW head over to a table and see the product sitting there and next week goto a SSCW show and guess what ROH product was there. It was subliminal on the mind of the wrestling fan anywhere they went and guess what ROH got bigger and did well. They had their fans and it kept steady people in the seats.

So the lesson we all learn in this little writing is if you have a product wrestling or anything. Push it everywhere and have it in the view of the fans everywhere and you will build a product that grows.
