Why Mark Henry Should Keep The Title Until Wrestlemania 28

The monster push of Mark Henry on Smackdown has been one of the more exciting things that WWE hasn’t messed up yet. The chances of Henry losing the title and it being back to the status quo this Sunday are high, but WWE would be served well to keep the belt on Mark Henry, to build a new top babyface not named Randy Orton or John Cena for Wrestlemania 28.

The path of destructions by Mark Henry has been one of the best booked monster pushes from WWE in year. WWE did the right thing by putting the World Heavyweight Title on Mark Henry after his summer of destruction, with Mark Henry beating Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Title at Night of Champions. With that being said, Mark Henry really does need to keep rolling on and WWE really needs to keep doing the right thing with him, continuing to push him as the monster he is when he defends against Randy Orton in Hell in a Cell this Sunday.

I fear that Orton’s going to win the belt back this Sunday.

Which would really be a bad thing. WWE has a problem lately where the belts have to be bounced back and forth, where everyone has to be equal. Where everyone has to have equal records, where there is no really dominant force. The reason why Mark Henry is working so well is that he’s not equal with everyone. He is a monster, a force of nature, someone who can’t really be put down. He doesn’t need to be put down this Sunday.

WWE has a problem where no one in the company is important enough, it is the company that draws the fans in. John Cena is the closest thing to someone who is important and even he is wearing thin with the average fan.

Mark Henry needs to roll over the entire Smackdown roster(and many on RAW as well, given the crossovers). Face and heel alike, destroying them one by one, with his path of destruction building and the pile of bodies building up. It would be a stupid idea to cut off that run in two weeks. To have another cookie cutter Randy Orton title run. Randy Orton and John Cena have both held the title way too many times. We need new people on top and while Mark Henry isn’t exactly new, he’s fresher as a main event superstar.

Mark Henry needs to hold the World Heavyweight Championship until Wrestlemania 28. Where there is one last hope, one man who could be the savior of Smackdown, to save them from the path of destruction, this Juggernaut that is rolling through everyone on Smackdown. That being the 2011 Smackdown Money in the Bank winner, Daniel Bryan.

Daniel Bryan could be put over as the new key babyface on Smackdown if he takes down Mark Henry and makes the monster tap out, slaying him once and for all.

Chances are that Randy Orton is going to get the belt back and WWE is going to fall back into the same boring pattern of endless Randy Orton and John Cena title runs. Yet keeping the belt on Mark Henry until Wrestlemania 28, having him crush everyone, until Daniel Bryan shuts him down would be the smartest decision WWE can make. We could have a new top babyface not named John Cena or Randy Orton.

If only WWE had the long term patience to think past next Monday’s ratings.

Bryan Danielson vs. Mark Henry…hmm…maybe and who will lose to Danielson, Wade Barrett? If that’s the case, let’s hope they can bring three epic feuds:

    Bryan Danielson vs. Mark Henry
    Bryan Danielson vs. Wade Barrett
    Wade Barrett vs. Justin Gabriel

That could work, unless STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN SAYS NOPE and he supports Randy Orton, like he is doing for John Cena and dissing Alberto Del Rio.
