It wasn’t the staples center , or MSG, or any other main venue that supports the squared circle what ever it may be . It was the middle of the bowling alley parking lot . It wasn’t wrestlers that are destined to become stars, just a few hardworking guys that want their shot at the brass ring.
I thought Id give a little time to the Indy circuit and on my birthday this past Saturday I went to see a local promotion that was having a show at the parking lot of the bowling alley. Surrounded by cargo jets , walmart and the elks golf course and clubhouse , the event was just about to get started when I arrived . I got a drink inside the bar and went out on the patio to survey the crowd . Typical mixture of local indy fans and the curious stood and sat in their chairs that they brought .
First up on this evenings card was the “ American Psycho” going up against Johnny Suede . Since I hadn’t followed these guys at all my first impressions was that the Psycho, a small man by any standards might be a little overmatched by the larger Suede . Nothing could have been further from the truth. The smaller Psycho ran the larger Suede around the
Ring for the first part of the show to the point that Suede was obviously favoring his left leg. Suede did gain the upper hand for a while and inflicted a great deal of punishment on the smaller psycho . But the word psycho suggests that and this little man fought his way back and left Suede lying on the mat unable to answer a ten count .
Next match up was some poser by the name Ricochet who in the middle of southern Ohio thinks he’s some gang banger from east LA . His foe was a blue Mohawk that went by the name “ Jesse The Bear Sinclair” .
This was probably the worst match of the night as the bear was dominated for the majority of the match and to add insult to injury, while he was being helped out to the back, Ricochet ran over him and a
Couple of ring attendants in the process.
Next up , a tag team match pitting the team D. Loco and Boss Hoss going up against the team of T dog and some sort of boxer wannabe named Dez. Overall a very fast pace match that saw a great deal of high flying.
The end result was Loco and Boss picking up the win. It was time for an intermission. Thank god cause my camera going dead and I needed to go get some batteries .
The next bout is a special challenge from the reigning tag team champs , Roc Wyler and Big Country or their collective name Redneck Thugs , put out an open challenge to the back for any team to come out for a title shot.
And under the heading of more guts then brains we have the team of Loco and Boss Hoss decide to do double duty if it meant getting a shot at tag team gold. All I can say is that while these two “Redneck Thugs” can certainly talk a good game they can also back it up in the ring . That coupled with the fact that it was Loco and Boss’s second go round in under an hour, they didn’t stand a chance against a fresher , more experienced team. The Redneck Thugs retain their UWI tag team belts.
The next contest is one of those ultra violent matches that no one will admit to enjoying but we all do in the end . Wes “ A**holeshow Simms , some MMA poser going up against Chris “ Cranial Damage” Cruit got it on in a last man standing match that started with Cruit coming out walking with a crutch . It didn’t take long before the crutch came into play. The long and the short of it is that after several minutes of cookie sheets to the head, Simms friend at ring side turned on him and Cruit won the match. The final bout was coming next
The main event of the evening pitted the UIW champ Freakshow and his team of the Criminal Styles and KC Corbyn against Shiek Uday Mohammad and his team .
The shiek had a special refere who was pivotal in the outcome when the Iranian pinned the freak to become the number one contender for his title . After the match Wes Simms drug his former friend Phil Parker back out to the ring and tied him to the ropes . He then choke slammed the Shiek and power bombed Freakshow.
All in all , a pretty good show. I cant wait until the next one .
