It is now time for TNA’s version of Wrestlemania, TNA Bound for Glory, the seventh version of this Pay Per View from TNA Wrestling. Tonight the TNA Championship will be on the line, when Kurt Angle defends against the number one contender Bobby Roode. Plus the best of friends turn into the worst of rivals when AJ Styles meets Christopher Daniels in an I Quit Match. Not to finally, we’ll see Sting step into the ring with Hulk Hogan and if Sting wins, then TNA will be returned to Dixie Carter.

TNA Bound for Glory 2011

Mexican America retained the TNA Tag Team Titles over Ink Inc

This was the preshow match and a solid enough match to kick things wide open at Bound for Glory 2011. No major problems with this match. Mexican America keep the TNA Tag Team Titles when Hernandez scores the pin over Jesse Neal with a roll up. Likely they’re going to keep the belts until Chris Sabin’s knee is cleared and the Motor City Machine Guns can reclaim the titles.

Austin Aries kept the TNA X-Division Title against Brian Kendrick

The right man won in this one for sure. A pretty solid X-Division encounter although as has been the case lately, a bit below what the X-Division once was. Still Aries has put it far above what it has been over the past couple of years. Aries hits the brain buster on Kendrick to pick up the win. Aries silences the fans as they cheer. What a great heel!

Rob Van Dam defeated Jerry Lynn in Full Metal Mayhem

These two men might be a few steps behind what they once were, but they still put on an enjoyable match and the old ECW fans in Philadelphia really enjoyed it. Lots of insanity int his match, perhaps not as insane in some ways as it would have been ten years ago but rather insane due to the age. In the end, Rob Van Dam scored yet another win over Jerry Lynn, to wrap up the feud. In the end, Jerry Lynn has approximately one victory in his entire career over Rob Van Dam.

Crimson defeated Matt Morgan and Samoa Joe

Well Crimson got another win remaining undefeated and Samoa Joe continues to have a losing streak that would make the Brooklyn Brawler, Barry Horowitz, and Gillberg all laugh at him. Joe had Crimson beat with the Muscle Buster but Morgan brought that up. Joe avoided Morgan but got speared and pinned. So Crimson continues the undefeated streak of death.

Ken Anderson defeated Bully Ray in a Falls Count Anywhere.

The fans really got into this one live. I was rather indifferent to it. There was bloodshed, there was hardcore violence, there was an instance of a table not breaking which looked like it sucked. Anderson wins with the Mic Check.

Jackson James talks with Eric Bischoff about Hogan and Sting so the fix is in.

Velvet Sky defeated Mickie James, Winter, and Madison Rayne to win the TNA Knockout’s Title with Traci Brooks as the special guest referee.

The match was not that good but we got the finish that everyone I think expect. Velvet Sky is your new TNA Knockout’s Champion. I’ve seen far worse, especially from this promotion, I’ll tell you that much. Velvet pins Madison, so yeah another multi person match where the champion doesn’t get pinned.

AJ Styles defeated Christopher Daniels in an I Quit Match

A brutal match, but perhaps not among the best between these two performers in the ring tonight at TNA Bound for Glory. Still we had some brutality and some good moments. AJ Styles went for a screwdriver but Daniels gave up before Styles could mangle him. Then he attacks Styles after the match. So this feud must continue.

Jeff Hardy and Jeff Jarrett had a segment, that ended in a brawl. Jarrett has taken Hardy into TNA and he’ll take him out.

Sting defeated Hulk Hogan to win control back from the company for Dixie Carter.

This match was what it was. Hulk Hogan used a spike handed to him by Ric Flair. Then Sting came back with two Stinger Splashes and locked on the Scorpion Deathlock. Immortal came out but Hogan made the save on Sting, thus turning babyface. Sure, why not? Oh and Jackson James did not screw Sting and in fact took a chair from Bischoff, and then Bischoff nailed him. Hogan and Sting clear the ring and shake hands.

Kurt Angle defeated Bobby Roode to retain the TNA Title.

A rather good match to close things out although I do wonder about the finish. Still both men put on a pretty good performance in the main event. Angle won with the Angle Slam, using the ropes for leverage. So we’re building towards a return match later on. It appears that Angle hurt himself in the course of this match as well. So yeah, a good match.

This Pay Per View was one of the better efforts for TNA of the year but it just fell short of what you expect for the greatest show of the year.
