Well starting off with injuries , apparently Batista did some real damage to his hamstring last Monday and that is why he didn’t wrestle last night. That may be all well and good but having Orton go over in a forfeit while your trying to sell this cryptic JBL HBK mess is just a little to much to swallow . They could have found a sub for Batista and still sold the fact that Orton put him out with the “punt” to the head. Not to mention the fact the word is now that the injury to Batista is so bad that he will more then likely miss wrestle mania 25 so selling the injury and how it happened is somewhat a mute point. I know that Orton is the ultra heel but there has to be a better way to sell this then what they did Monday night. As far as other injuries Monday , despite the very nasty fall that Mickie James took Monday night , she is apparently not injured seriously . She and Melina took on Layla and Jillian last night and with Melina getting the hard push since she has been back, they got the win but Mickie took some bad bumps both in and out of the ring and it looked to me like she may have hurt herself badly falling out of the ring. I guess she’s okay but I must bring up yet again , where is Gail Kim , what show is she going to be on , and who is going to be her main foe right out of the chute.
Sticking with the Diva topic for o minute. It was good to see former WWE woman’s champ popped up last night on the Raw main event last night. I always liked Trish because she worked very hard to get where she was going . She was a very raw “fitness model” when she first broke in and the secret to Trish’s success was the fact that while Fit Finlay on the shelf , he was the trainer for the women in the WWE. When you think about it, Trish is a lot more like Finlay then they really want to admit to.
ECW is a year ending highlight show that is just rehashes things that happened for the year . While I agree that they have the best broadcast team in the company right know , it has basically turned into lets bring up the best from FCW and see what happens . Swagger is a good heel , but I dint think that he’s ready for the a major title yet. Matt Hardy is doing a good job as the ECW champ , but he is in dire need of some time off to heel up some of the nagging injuries he has piled up since he has been the champ. I think some time in the near future they will figure out a way for Finlay to hold the belt for a run and give hardy a brake.
Vince has had his private screening of the “ The Wrestler” and while there has been official statement from Vince, a source close to the boss said that “ the word Negative isn’t strong enough to describe Vince’s reaction to the film”. I still don’t get this, when your trying to carve out your own little niche in the movie business, why would you just totally dump on a movie that is getting wide praise from Hollywood as well as most of the legends of the business that at one time or another worked for you. Vince ,its just a movie , not the gospel of the ring.
Last , I don’t get how they are thinking that MMA and wrestling can be combined, Jarret wanted to put Frank Trigg in with the MEM, but scheduling conflicts killed that idea. The truth is its two completely different things . You cant put storyline’s into an MMA match and you cant choreograph one and make it look good either. They shouldn’t have killed the Al Snow idea so quickly. They didn’t have to make him a member of the MEM , Mick and Al’s history alone would have stood on its own.
Well that’s it , gonna try to have something new by the weekend so until then , happy holidays.
