Jeff Hardy: Leaving WWE as a Performer

Some thoughts looking back on Jeff Hardy just a little bit.

Jeff Hardy has right now decided to take a step away from the WWE.  It isn’t likely that he will return back to TNA seeing how he had all ready had a run there and it didn’t work out really well.  His second run with the company would prove to be extremely successful in terms of breaking out into a singles star.  The fact of the matter is that he was perhaps one of the single most popular performers in the WWE today.

He had trials early on having some violations with the WWE Wellness Policy.  It would seem as if his previous problems would come back and seem to be a relapse in terms of having drug problems.  He had vowed not to mess up again and he did not have another WWE Wellness violation.  Had he gotten hit with a third one, he would have been fired automatically because that is the penalty for it.

Jeff looked like he would never get that push despite the fan following to get that championship belt in the first place.  He finally got it at the end of 2008 holding on to the WWE Championship albeit for a brief time but still he finally got the gold.  It was shocking considering he had two strikes against him in the company and that usually is a red flag when it comes to giving performer a big time push to the WWE Championship or World Heavyweight Championship depending upon the brand of course.

It would be best if Jeff would get everything together in terms of healing up to the best of his ability.  Had he continued, it would have looked even worse and could potentially see him in a wheelchair, which would really be a big time shame without question.  If you notice him coming out to the ring, he had a limp and that isn’t a good sign.  You could tell he was aching.

As for what will the future hold for him, it right now is unknown.  He probably will return to the WWE at some point in the near future.  As far as what role, that is to be determined at another time.  With the two Wellness violations, it probably would still be there with him and probably wouldn’t be given a clean slate but without really knowing the WWE’s policy on that, it is a hard one to figure out.  Most likely, he would return as a face because that is where he seems to be at his strongest.

Final thoughts would be that he does what is best for him and no one else.  If it means that he must step away from the ring for good, then so be it.  One thing for sure, he will have had a memorable career.
