Is WWE too Boring to Entertain?

One fan’s view.

If you ask this wrestling fan the answer is yes. When I started watching wrestling, there was a ton of iconic figures reaching almost superhero status. You could be proud to watch all your favorites come back from impossible odds to defeat there archenemies and enjoy what you were watching. Now, you have clowns like Chris Jericho, JBL, Randy Orton, and yes, even John Cena being showcased as if they were some rare talent or something. McMahon ought to be ashamed of him self for disgracing the entertainment industry in such a fashion.

Gone are the days when storylines lasted only a few episodes. It seems like lately they showcase the same tired rivalries over and over again. For far too long I had to tune in and watch John Cena and Edge go at it while they were at odds. And more confusing then anything is the rivalry they started between William Regal and Jamie Noble. What were they thinking? Two no names make a star. Neither one of those guys have any potential.

And here we go on the John Cena issue. It might surprise you to hear me say “It’s getting old John.”, but Stone Cold Steve Austin already cornered the market on the whole tough as nails gimmick. And did it better than anyone else, I might add. Wrestling is entertainment and wrestling fans need to see charismatic superstars, not just a bunch of guys who lace up there boots, just to collect a paycheck. Nobody is selling moves anymore, they just run around the ring doing a way to obviously choreographed routine. Come on guys, when you go through a table it a little more convincing. You don’t just spring right back up, as if nothing happened.

Take some pointers from the greats that came before you. Everybody knows Ric Flair wasn’t the greatest physical specimen to look at, but yet he was loved by millions and why? Because he made us either like him or hate him. And when Flair was supposed to look hurt, he looked hurt. He made it a joy to watch him perform. Hulk Hogan also accomplished this, along with Bret Hart, Stone Cold, The Rock, and countless others before this massive stream of so called entertainers came around. It is sad when a wrestling giant such as the WWE only has 3 true superstars left. Those 3 being Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and Triple H. Can someone please, smack Vince in the head so he can wake up and begin entertaining us once again?
