According to Ring of Honor (ROH), independent wrestling’s biggest star has signed with the WWE.
Bryan Danielson, also known as the American Dragon, has wrestled with Ring of Honor since 2002. He has gained a sizable following on the internet thanks to his matches with Claudio Castagnoli, Low Ki, and Christopher Daniels. Hailed as one of the greatest technical wrestlers, he looked toward other ring technicians when building his style including Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko. His style has truly come into his own however as he has also managed to incorporate MMA and jiu-jitsu maneuvers as part of his style.
Despite several tryout matches previously with the two top wrestling companies the WWE and TNA, this will be Danielson’s first contract with a major company.
It is expected that Danielson will honor his commitments to Ring Of Honor and continue to work through September the dates he has already been booked to wrestle. After that it is assumed Danielson will report to WWE’s “minor league” affiliate Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) which serves to train new talent and repackage wrestlers before being called up to one of the WWE’s three televised brands.
