We are Not Able to Select a Team for London Olympics

You know we are going through a drama for the past few weeks we are witness to some thing ridiculous selection of Indian Tennis team for coming Olympics. While players of other countries are almost lined up and trying their best effort to win medals for the country, our tennis players are engaged mud slinging and playing politics.  Some players are setting the stage for terms with the bosses of sports who in turn taking full advantage of the situation being politicians. 

Yes, they are favoring some one so obviously and even reaching him to far off places. They are even overlooking a pair in form while trying to satiate some ones egos at the cost of nation’s pride. Yes, the younger lot is not up to the mark, they are well below the standard of aging duo. 

People even ask us that why we cannot find some replacements for such players that is very sensible suggestion.  We cannot expect our aging players to perform forever. However, the problem is that we cannot do this on such a short notice and we do not have players of that caliber yet. In addition, this situation so much distorted by the entry of the politicians who are siding with someone who thinks whom is above the law and nation. 

This can be described in one sentence as clash of egos that has done a lot of harm to Indian tennis in last couple of years, this is all about egos of the stars, Leander and MASH. They are dead against each other despite remaining #1 as a pair for years.  I would have even considered not sending a team to Olympics rather than sending a bunch of undisciplined lot. If you remember, MASH and Sania are playing together for long time now and they two have won French open last week. They make a great combination so why disturb this pair. Is there any particular reason for that? 

I know, they have their own personal issues but the point is why Indian sports ministry is not trying to get new players and pair up a younger group. There is so much talent available in our country apart Mash and Paes are not the only players available to do the job. Our players and sports managers are not professional and not up to the job. They have nothing but personal interest on their minds all the time. That shows why we are so poor in medal tally in every international level competition. 

A few wiser people think that we should rather declare cricket as out national game! Funny- If you ask me seriously- cricket is the worst game that wastes lots of precious time for almost no result. Cricket, which played in 10-12 countries only and no country that has respect for labor and time do not play it. That game is gift by British to its natives. I would not suggest making our national game that is not a part of any major sports events like Olympics, Asian or even common wealth games.
