Nadal to Face Safin in Quarter-finals

World No.2 Rafael Nadal will face wild card Marat Safin in the quarter finals of the China Open on Friday. Both men are previous winners of the event.
The Russian defeated seventh seed Fernando Gonzalez 6-3, 6-4 earlier today in a short match taking just an hour and 9 minutes. The Chilean was unfocused during the match and never appeared to be in the match. Safin dominated with an 88% of first serves.
In contrast Nadal had trouble getting past American James Blake, losing the second set in a tie-break. However Nadal was happy with his performance, calling it as “one of my best matches after my injury of the knee”.
