Game, Set and Match!

This is a sound that is all too familiar for the world’s number one men’s tennis player, Rafael Nadal. A true champion, the King of Clay is a formidable foe on the tennis circuit today.My favourite player and by far the best, I am seriously glued to the television set whenever he is playing.

With his brilliant and skilful style of play, he constantly wears his opponents out both physically and mentally. Proving that he is not just a clay court specialist, Nadal had the pleasure of defying the critics by winning Wimbledon and the Australian Open.This proved that he is capable of winning a Grand Slam tournament on a surface other than clay.With his charming good looks and humble nature, Rafael Nadal continues to woo fans from all over the world. I am hoping that he can win a Grand Slam soon. If not this year, then definitely in the near future. He truly deserves it.

The constant rivalry between Nadal and Roger Federer is the stuff that dreams are made of. The pure genius of these two players when in action is both spellbinding and mind-blowing. I really feel for the linesmen who are in the constant firing line every time Nadal serves. I personally would move out of the way as those balls come rocketing down the service line. They are dynamite!

I am proud of the game of tennis, especially when it has produced players like Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer who are quite frankly in a class of their own. The sheer genius of these players is to be admired and commended both now and in matches to come.
