The word of Gymnastics is derived from the Greek word “gymnazein” which means “exercising without clothes”. Modern gymnastics began in the early nineteenth century in Sweden. There is less chance of injure from falling, and less apparatus is needed, just mats and space, which should be about 40 feet square.
