Jamaican celebrated when Usain Bolt broke the World Record and became the fastest man in the world. They joked that his speed was attributed to his consumption of Yam since he hails from the community of Sherwood Content in Trelawny. Trelawny is considered the chief province for Yam production in Jamaica.

After months of running on the streets of Burbank and Glendale, the runners of Team to End AIDS had one last day to train before the day of the Los Angeles Marathon. Although it was only eight miles, we still had to deal with a heavy duty rainstorm that flooded portions of Southern California the day before.
The runners of Team to End AIDS ended up doing a 10 mile recovery run after traveling 23 miles the previous weekend. Also, they got a wonderful opportunity to be featured on KTLA Channel five to promote their training program and charity work they do for AIDS Project Los Angeles.
On Saturday, February 15, the runners of Team to End AIDS ran their longest run yet of 23 miles. I ended up hitting social media sites everywhere to inform people that if I made my fundraising goal, I would run with an Eeyore plush doll at my side. Thankfully enough people donated, and I brought the Eeyore with me.
Our latest day of training for the upcoming LA Marathon had us running 17 miles. Furthermore, we had to run in 80 degree weather which (believe it or not) is actually quite rare to experience in Los Angeles during the month of January.
After our 14 mile run the previous week, the Team to End AIDS runners did a recovery run of eight miles. While these recovery runs seem relatively easy on the surface, this one proved to be more challenging than usual.
