Surfing is the act of riding a breaking wave to perform manevours and tricks. Surfing is not restricted to just the ocean, but can sometime take place in rivers on a standing wave.
Surfing usually means standing up on a surfboard then riding the wave. It may also be called ‘Stand-up surfing’ so people don’t get it confused with body-boarding and body-surfing.
Surfing is divided inot two types, longboarding and shortboarding. The differences are the sizes in the boards and the way they move and the style that you ride.
Tow-in surfing is also used but most commly for riding big waves. A surfer is towed behind a jetski to gain speed to get onto the big waves.
