First of all what you need to know is witch wax to buy, i recommend buying at least 2-3 wax cakes of both cold and warm wax (warm wax is used in warm water, and cold wax in colder water). It should say weather its warm or cold wax on the packet.

Now that you have your wax, you can begin waxing your new board!

1.) Use one of the warm waxes to start off with, this layer will be the first coat of 3. Start with diagonal lines all along the board using the edge of the wax cake(weather it be a short or long board) and pay close attention that you coat were you will stand very heavily. WARNING! do not push too hard as this may make the fiberglass cave in!

2.) The second coat still uses the warm wax, so don’t put it away yet! Now with the edge of the warm wax begin rubbing small circles all along the board so that the wax begins to clump into small groups, this is good it makes the board much easier to stay on!

3.) We now come to the final coat of the process! You will need cold wax for this coat, so make sure you have the right one, begin with small circles just like in the second coat. Again the wax will begin to clump into groups even more providing major grip for long lasting surf sessions!

4.) The final step of waxing your board, for this step you will need a wax comb it will usually have a serrated teeth edge and a flat edge, they come with most new surf boards! You will only need the serrated edge at this time. (the flat part is for removing wax!) Use the serrated teeth of the comb and scrape diagonal Cris-crossing lines into your wax all along the board. this provides the rider with more grip and makes the wax last longer.

Your new surfboard is now ready to ride!
