Being on a team and accomplishing a goal greater then ourselves is one of the best feelings anyone can understand.

Second place, in a Texas Water Polo Regional Tournament. This team went 150 games undedeated only to get shot down in double overtime against their biggest rival in a 6-5 finish. The deciding goal was a fluke that I really couldn’t get into details because this is a confusing sport.
Five of the starting seven on this team were first team all region. 10 out of the 11 can swim a 100 free below 52 seconds. They had the best goaile in the state and they lost. It is rather a heartbreaking defeat knowing what type of work these guys put forth to get to where they are.
On this team, there are:
3 Seniors
7 Juniors
1 Sophmore
Those 7 juniors know what it means to be on a team. They have been training with each other for the past 3 years and have endured hell on Earth with each other. 4 o’clock morning practices are just a little bit of what they have been through. They have been stuck together through yelling and fighting, bleeding and crying. They are the foundation for the rest of the team and next year when all 7 of them start they will dominate Texas Water Polo, most likely going undefeated. And this is not on talent alone, this is soley dedication and hardwork. Five of these seven juniors came into high school not knowing a thing about the sport and now they will march their way to victory in the next year to come.
