Water Polo is a beyond fantastic sport. It is rough, hard, and a very fast paced sport. But not many people have heard of such a sport, yet know how to play.
Basic
Water Polo is played in a 25- 33 meter pool, depending on the type of game. There are 14 guys in the pool at once 1 goalie, and 6 guys swimming up and down the pool hard and fast. The object is to get the ball (slightly larger then a volleyball) into the goal.
Why it’s fun
Water Polo is a blast mainly because it takes a lot of work and conditioning. You cannot touch the bottom or side of a pool and because you are constantly moving you get tired fast. It’s rough, water polo is the only sport that the refs field of vision is obscured becasue of the water so it is very easy to hit or be hit underwater.
If you have not watched a water polo game you can go search on the Internet. If you get the oppurtunity to play, go for it.
