Athlete Usain Bolt has ended his six-month relationship with his Slovakian fashion designer girlfriend for a reason many consider as weird.
The Jamaican sprinter broke up with the 28 year-old Lubica Slovak because he wants to focus on the upcoming Olympics in London with an aim of repeating his double-gold/world-record Olympic performance. Bolt in 2008 swept the sprint events setting world marks in each race.
A source close to Bolt told The Sun newspaper, “He will have plenty of time for relationships. At the moment he’s concentrating on his running career and doesn’t want anything to distract from that.”
Slovak got to know Bolt through reggae singer Tami Chynn who was a mutual friend.
Bolt was heavily criticised in Jamaica on his choice of ‘white’ girlfriend instead of a local black girl when news of their relationship became public.
Many doubt the reason given by Bolt is indeed the cause of the break-up but the from the horses own mouth it still remains the breakup was rather right to help the sprinter focus on the upcoming Olympics.
I really don’t think it was to enable him concentrate on the Olympics. There are many reasons. Age difference, she is black he is white, culture, and so forth. The Olympics are just an excuse. Everybody in Jamaica was against his love for a white girl when there are plenty of black cuties at home.
