You can make a garden of pretty flowers to look at, or if you would rather have something edible, herbs, fruits and vegetables will work well for you. For a lot of gardeners, it is being able to eat the harvest that makes all of the work enjoyable. Some of the vegetables that are mainly grown in small, home gardens include potatoes, cucumbers, carrots, peppers, corn, peas and a lot more. Some of the more popular fruits are strawberries, cherries, pears, blueberries, plums, tomatoes and apricots. Many people love cooking with herbs and they can be grown in their garden, like mint, dill, sage, thyme, and chives.
During the spring and summer, it is easy to have a colorful garden, but during the cold, winter months, it is a totally different story. You can have color in your garden the year round if you do a little planning, even though it won’t be easy. Rudbeckia is a yellow perennial that is beautiful, and it is a gardening plant that thrives not only in the fall months, but also in the winter ones. The Christmas Rose, Cosmos, and the Japanese Anemone are others that do well in those months. A spring garden is normally thought of when you are thinking about flowers and beautiful colors. Some of the most beautiful things on earth are gardening plants that grow during the spring and summer. Tulips, violets and daffodils are several of the plants that are grown the most in the springtime. Roses, lilies and dahlias are some that come out more often during the summer and its warmer months.
There are some people who like shrubs or decorative grasses for their gardens. One of the all time favorites is monkey grass, especially when used around sidewalks. If you want something for looks, for privacy or as a border or fence, then you should try shrubs. They can give a defining look to any garden or yard and are very easy to take care of. No matter what kind of gardening plants you choose to use, the choice is yours. You need to plan out your garden in advance, so it will have the look you want. If you mainly want edible plants, then you need to know what grows well together.
You have a lot of gardening plants that you can choose from, so take some time deciding. Remember that you will end up with a garden full of just dirt, if you are not ready to give your garden the proper care.
