The Olympic games are the most incredible show we can enjoy every four years .as the world cup this spectacle has many spectators around the world ,we can see the happiness of people when it begans with all people cheering the athletes of their country.
Beginning in 776 before Christ, the Olympic Games were held in the valley of Olympia in Greece, every four years for almost 1200 years .Inspired by the ancient games, Frenchman Baron Pierre de Coubertin created the modern Olympic Games .First staged in 1896. They attracted about 245 athletes (all men) in 43 events .At the Sydney 2000 games, more than 10000 athletes took part in 300 events .The Olympic movement has survived wars, boycotts and terrorism to become a symbol of the ability of the people of all nations to come together in peace and friendship.
The five overlapping rings are intended to represent the linking of the five continents Recent games have been held on four of those continents (Seoul-Korea 1988, Barcelona Spain 1992, Atlanta United States 1996, Sydney Australia 2000, Athens Greece 2004 and the recently amazing last games were held in Beijing China 2008).
Now we have to wait 4 years to enjoy this amazing spectacle again.
