Oceanside (ranked 15th in the state according to Maxpreps) will make a trip to Carson, California next Friday to play number 13 Bellarmine Prep from San Jose, California for the Division I state championship. Bellarmine Prep was an essential shoo-in for the Division I game, but the Oceanside High Pirates, who are undefeated through 37 games, needed a bit of luck to get in.
With losses from Edison and Vista Murrieta, doors opened for the Pirates to slip into a division I championship game.
The Pirates have outscored their opponents 493-97 through 13 games this season, and have not trailed a game all year long. Though at times their offense has looked shaky, a dominant, aggressive defense closes games out quickly.
Oceanside has six players who have recieved Division I scholarships, including two to Pac-10 teams.
Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. on Friday in Carson, CA at the Home Depot Center.

Oceanside beat my Helix High in the San Diego section championship, so I hope they represent us strongly.
Yeah we did. You guys played really really well, though. Our offense is having some major problems (they tend to choke at times) so yeah. Bellarmine has a good team, so fingers are crossed.
