Nick Saban is Leaving Alabama!
How could this happen?

Don’t get your panties in a wad just yet. As far as I know, Nick Saban has no intention whatsoever of leaving the University of Alabama. But think about it. . .
It was not too long ago when Saban was hoisting the championship trophy with his LSU Tigers. Nick took an average SEC team all the way to the top. Just when it looked like LSU had it right, Nick Saban announced that he would leave Baton Rouge for life in Miami. Does this not sound familiar Alabama fans? Could this ever happen to the good ole’ Crimson Tide? Let’s ask Miami.
December 24th 2007: “I guess I have to say it. I’m not going to be the Alabama coach. … I don’t control what people say. I don’t control what people put on dot-com or anything else. So I’m just telling you there’s no significance, in my opinion, about this, about me, about any interest that I have in anything other than being the coach here.” -Nick Saban
January 4th 2007:”What I realized in the last two years is that I love college coaching because of the ability that it gives you to affect people, young people. … If I knew that my heart was someplace else in what I wanted to do, I don’t think it would be fair to the [Dolphins] organization if I stayed.” -Nick Saban
Sounds to me like Nick Saban can not be trusted to stay anywhere (even “the great Alabama”).
Don’t get me wrong, I am happy that Nick Saban is my school’s coach, but if he up and left tomorrow, I would not be shocked. You see, to Nick Saban, money is not everything. He is the kind of man who looks for a competitive challenge wherever it may be. He is the kind of guy who would leave Alabama in a heartbeat for a chance to build up a struggling program just to do it. He is the kind of guy who even if you don’t like him, you respect the hell out of him for what he accomplishes as a head coach.
