London Olympics 2012 My Opinion

I was born, and raised in England. So to see the Olympics here we so cool.

Now I knew about he Olympics being in England the day we where given it. So I was hoping to go see some. But Now living in Florida I couldn’t. So like any true sports fan I watched as much as I could on TV.

I watched the opening ceremony which I thought was informative, and educated people about Great Britain in general. Although American TV did edit out a lot for adverts which really sucks hard. I want to see the ceremony not the adverts. The only thing I did not like was Paul McCartney be involved. I for one though think at any Olympics think they should not make the athletes stand that long through a ceremony. Give them seats.

Loved the swimming as normal, but boy did that go on for to long. I was just glad they had at least 3 channels to give me more options. And I did flick through all three on regular days so I didn’t get bored of the swimming. I just love the swimming, but just could not take to much of it. I was glad the football was on other channel’s to be able to keep my brain interested.

The womens football, and basketball where good. I just happened to see all of the French women’s games in football, and was so pleased I did. Two of the french players where to yummy. Juse to happy seeing women play anything is cool. I am just that way.

Serena, and Venus Williams my dream women played tennis also. Just give me one second with Serena and I would faint. Just awesome to have to lots of the Williams sisters at Wimbledon in the same year. Let alone within 3 weeks.

Track and field always get my attention of course. The female athletes of course hold most of my attention there also. Just the way I am. I am sure there are plenty of women out there who think the same of the male athletes to, so please do not try to judge ladies!

I did get fed up of it all about 2 days before the closing ceremony due to the fact that I have never watched as much Olympics as I did this time around. I was just in a situation where I could watch as much as I wanted this time around. So I made myself sick of it. So I gave myself a few hours break from it. But that didn’t stop me from seeing the last day out.

The closing ceremony was good also. More of a concert than anything. And yes I was pleased to see no Paul McCartney anywhere! Just a shame to see once again the athletes being made to stand all over again with some having to sit on the floor.

The only few things that really where bad where badminton players trying to lose,to have some way to win in later rounds? Also a female football player punching out and giving one of the American players a black eye. I only hope these players, and the coach who told them to do it are blocked from competing ever again.

One of the female American athletes was put in a stressful situation just because her hair wasn’t done as good as people should have thought it should. I do not think this way,nor should a gold winning medal athlete should be made to feel that way. Gabby Douglas was there to compete as an athlete, not some “Jerry Springer, your hair is better than my hair” competition. How fake can people get really? People who are spending more on thier hair than rent, and feeding kids.

One guy in the weight lifting dislocated his arm which was a really gross thing to see,and I am glad he only dislocated it. Although that is a danger in that event. So he knew what would or could happen.

My wife doe not understand how much I love sport, and as much as my body may not look like I do. I do. I used to play, and coach a lot of sports. Passionate people to passionate things, and the Olympics is an event athletes can show that passion. We I feel all should take a leaf out of their books and understand how we all should be to keep healthy, and be a part of something that is so much important than one person alone.

To the fake people out there who think your hair is more important than your rent, mortgage,or kids you are wrong. Yes you may want to look good,or better, but work hard to make that money to be able yo give your kids the chance to be a part of something like the Olympics. Not make fun of people who are half your age who know better than you already.

I watched the Olympics, and I reminded me how lazy I have let myself become. How I should have kept up my exercise regardless of the situation. I have started walking everyday to get rid of the weight I have put on. I have become upset with myself because I let myself go. The Olympics have reminded me that life is to short to sit around and not be healthier.

The Olympics gave me some passion back. Some more ambitions. So I will not wait until January to make changes,or resolutions. I am starting now. Thank God for showing me how being lazy in terms of exercise has gotten me to being fat,and just having a lack of ambition again.

So thanks athletes of the 2012 London, Olympics. Thank you God the showing me through those athletes how lazy I have gotten. This is one of the ways the Olympics has helped me,and I have enjoyed every second of it whether I got bored of it or not.
