Jandakot 25km.
Date: 15 July 1984, Start time;9.00am, course: Out and back course, roads throughout ,hills in first 3 kilometres,dead flat otherwise. Difficulty: 4, Distance: 25000metres and 10000metres. Race Director: Carol Van Weert.
Venue: Anning Park. Near the corner of Forrest Road and Hammond Road Jandakot.
Brief Description: This will be the third of four State titles that the WAMC will organize this year in association with the A.A.W.A. The same conditions apply for those who wish to be eligible to win the state road championship, namely that you must wear an Association number. The course has two small hills in the first three kilometres( and hence in the last three kilometres as well.) The course is otherwise flat and consists of a 7.5km stretch of road ,a corner and a 5km stretch of road. Race director Carol Van Weert assures me that the course is very scenic with lots of trees and hobby farms.
Drink Stations: Probably at 5,10,15 and 20 kilometres. Facilities: Toilets, plenty of parking. Hazards: None. 1983 Field: 129 members. Special Requiements/conditions: Training : Competitors are advised to complete either a 16 km of half marathon before attempting this event. Less prepared runners should run in the 10 kilometre event.
State Title: In order to be eligible to win the state title, competitors must wear their A.A.W.A. numbers.
