Now in our second installment we will look at what to collect and how to get the cards that will gain in value before they become too expensive. First and foremost I recommend only the three main sports as investments. Baseball, football, and basketball are the ones I would concentrate on. Lets look deeper into each one.

Baseball is your best investment for a number of reasons, but the most important is they play more games than anyone else. Baseball plays 162 regular season games and this gives baseball cards a big advantage to go up in value. They are also the cards that are collected the most.

Basketball cards are the second most collected anymore because just like baseball cards it plays more games than football. Basketball season is 82 games so they increase in value alot faster than football.

Football cards are number three and one of the main reasons is they only play 16 games so they tend to increase at a slower rate. Football cards are still highly sought after though.

So, now we are at the part who to collect and why. You want to collect players who are talented and popular. The more popular the more in demand thus creating a much higher price. The easiest way to get these before they go up is follow what ever sport you decide to collect. For instance if you love football than reading draft reports are a must. You can get alot from them and watching them play college football helps out alot too. The key is to get that card before people know about him.

After awhile you will get good at picking the winners and losers. It’s an art just like anything else and you will make some mistakes, but you will also pick some great winners.
