There was just too much about the Staal brothers to fit into one article, so here we go with part 2. Eric, Marc, Jordan and Jared Staal are the biggest brother act to play in the NHL since the Sutters. Three of the four are in the NHL with the fourth playing his first year of professional hockey split between the ECHL and AHL.

A. Jeff Heerema went eleventh overall in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. Heerema played a total of 32 NHL games with the Hurricanes and the St. Louis Blues. Jeff is currently playing for the Nottingham Panthers in Great Britain’s Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL).

A. After three years wearing the ‘A’, the Carolina Hurricanes made Eric Staal their team captain for the 2010-11 season.

A. Marc Staal served as the team’s captain. Marc was also named the league’s Most Outstanding Defenseman and the Playoff MVP.
Q. Which of the brothers missed just one regular season game in his first five NHL seasons?
A. Eric Staal missed one game in his first season with the Carolina Hurricanes then proceeded to play every game for the next four seasons. In 2009-10, Eric missed twelve games.
