Uefa Champions League Final: Chelsea to Beat Bayern Munich

The UEFA Champions League final is here with us. Sports pundits are already predicting a whitewash for Chelsea but I think Chelsea will beat Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena. Whether or not Bayern have the home ground advantage, Bayern Munich has lost to minor opposition both home and away and shouldn’t be treated as invincible.

Call me Octopus Jimmy if you wish but my predictions have always been right, almost. I predicted that Japan would win the women’s world cup against favorites USA and they did, I predicted Arsenal’s whitewash against Manchester United and Man City’s title win long before the half way mark. Who will win the Champions League final?

While its true Bayern are playing at home at the Allianz Arena, Chelsea have the capacity to beat them hands down and this wont be on penalties. If it comes to penalties, eliminating a German team has never been easy and Chelsea should avoid that. How can Bayern lose at the Arena?

Well, they have lost twice at home this season and performed dismally against similar opposition. Meanwhile, Chelsea have beaten bigger teams or similar teams to Bayern. Didn’t Bayern Munich lose to Borussia Dortmund home and away? Weren’t they beaten again by the same team in the final of the German Cup? Bayern aren’t invincible like the papers want us to believe.

Apart from Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Mochengladbach beat Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in the Bundesliga, and that isn’t a tougher team compared to Chelsea is you ask me. Whether home or away, they have lost to Manchester City, Bayer Leverkusen, FC Basel, and drawn against minor teams like SC Freiberg, Hamburger SV, and Hoffenheim.

Chelsea will beat Bayern Munich. They fought hard against Napoli, beat Benfica home and away, and eliminated Barcelona against all odds. If they could beat Barcelona hands down, why not Bayern? They have a better striker in the name of Didier Drogba and some good players like David Luiz and Juan Mata available for the final.

Franck Ribery, Arjene Robben and his overrated teammates played in the German cup final and were whitewashed 5-2 by Borussia Dortmund not long ago. Their defense is vulnerable and so will it be in the Champions league final at home to Chelsea. Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole, Gary Cahill, David Luiz and Peter Cech can lift the trophy for Chelsea. Too bad Ramirez is missing, and Terry too, but that isn’t insurmountable. Lets meet after the final whistle.

I told you so! The game is over and Chelsea have won. No Champions league for Spurs next season.
