Liverpool stars yesterday were again gunned down by the Wenger side that appears to be growing in self belief after a disastrous Champion’s League game at AC Milan’s home ground a couple of weeks ago. Only last weekend, they thrushed Spurs 5-2 to move to fourth position. In the Liverpool match, they came again from behind to snatch the winning goal in the dying minutes of the game.

Van Persie, the Dutch Arsenal scored all the two goals to push his tally to 30 goals and that is also the highest individual goal tally in the English premier this season. Arsenal started this premier league season very badly, registering the heaviest loss in its over 100 year old history when they lost 8-1 to Manchester United. However, their consistency in the last few weeks gives room for hope, although they should forget taking home any silver ware this season because they failed to beat Saunderland when it mattered most in their struggle for the FA.

The goal machine, Van Persie holds the key to keeping the gunners in the top four, a position they have retained for the last 10 years now. Wenger  has his eyes strictly on the top four because elswhere, like the Champions League, he does not have any chance left. With the likes of Chelsea doing so badly, Arsenal definitely could maintain this position.

Already, there were growing calls from the fans for Wenger to go, but this may soon die out if the gunners continue in their winning ways. Theo Walcott who over the past few games was doing badly is showing his true color again by terrorizing defences of many of their opponents. He is speedy and very good at dribbling. At the back, Bakari has recovered form his injuries and Gibbs is also doing well at the left back. They only need to continue to have a fighting spirit, who knows, they could even still contend for the top spot!
