Medals or Trophies?
If you have worked as a team to get to first and second place would you prefer a medal or a trophy?

I am a Mother of a soccer player and I also love watching all players not only my own children and I enjoy taking photos and videos of all teams.
I am a bit surprised that at some of these soccer tournaments they decide to give the 1st and 2nd place teams medals and a tshirt? UMMM .. if I worked my butt off and sweated I do not want a medal, I will take a tshirt along with a trophy.
The money they charge for each team to enter the tournament should provide tropihes for 1st and 2nd place teams. When you are charging a team to enter around 450.00 to 600.00 and you have over 20 teams then you have more then enough to provide trophies to the placing teams.
I have discussed this with many players and they feel it is a slap in the face to go all the way to the championship game to walk away with a medal?
It is not ok to give medals to the first and second place teams and I do not know how it is being allowed, if you get to the champoinship game you deserve to let everyone know “YOU ARE THE BEST” for this tournament.
What are your thoughts on this?
