Hello all,
hope you all watched the weekend matches. thrilling stuff wasn’t it?
Chelsea showed an amazing bounce back from their dismal loss to Wigan last week with a well deserved 2-0 beating of liverpool at home. Having watched the match, i can say that Drogba was really good. He provided both the assists for the two goals that Chelsea scored. Apart from Drogba Hilario also did a good job filling in for Petr Cech. The passing was good. The first half seemed balanced between the two sides but in the second half chelsea were the more dominant, with dangerous attacks and crosses. Also i’d like to mention Ashley Cole for his defending as well as offensive play. One instance where he showed some magic was when he produce an amazing tackle in the box, using his head.
Liverpool, on the other hand were not playing too good. their passing was sloppy, defending haphazardly. their possession on the ball on not good. they were not able to organise many attacks. their were only a handful of chances that appeared for liverpool(more like half chances) among them were Fernando Torres’ header, Steven Gerard’s powerful shot towards the end to which Hilario responded really well. Liverpool could got back 1 goal towards the end. but Benayoun(blind bugger) missed an open goal shot while Hilario was on the ground. At the end of it all, Ancelloti was the happier man with the side that won the London derby with goals from Anelka and Malouda.
how about we look at the other matches as well…
Manchester united and Sunderland was an interesting match. A definitely good watch. Sunderland went ahead early in the first half due to a goal from Darren bent. United were down at the break. Sunderland came with a desire to win and it showed in their play; they passed well and had good ball possession. Manchester United on the other hand were sloppy during the first half, giving half a dozen stray passes. Rooney seemed quite the angry man during the first half evidently shown by frequent outbursts of rage. United equalized in the second half with a an amazing overhead kick from Dimitar Berbatov.
But united were not level for long, when Sunderland’s Jones scored again making the score 2-1. United were always for late comebacks. It was a sad end for sunderland when United equalized with Evra though it was an own goal by Ferdinand(Sunderland). I feel United strongly felt the loss of the Ronaldo and Tevez in this encounter.
Other results were:
Arsenal showed some class with a 6-2 thrashing of Blackburn. Blackburn went ahead early but Arsenal equalized soon after. Blackburn went ahead again but arsenal equalized once more. Blackburn scored no more in that match but conceded 4 more goal to leave the scoreline in the end as 6-2.
The other results at pretty straight forward apart form Tony Pulis’ side getting a point against Everton. poor David Moyes. Good performance by Stoke, a slight change from the dismal results they’ve been getting.
Thats all for now.
Ciao
