English Premier League has ended and we already know who is the champion. Congratulation to the winner. I don’t want to talk about the champion here. What I want to review is the best EPL signing for this season which the player who really bring something to his new team. Here is top five signings of the season.

Fernando Torres

The Spanish international joined Liverpool for a fee of around 26 million pound from Atletico Madrid with a goals record which was promising if not prolific. But the 24 year old striker has found the net regularly in an outstanding debut season when he looked worth every penny and Anfield finally had a goal scorer worthy of the number nine shirt previously worn by Robbie Fowler and Ian Rush.

Roque Santa Cruz

Blackburn manager Mark Hughes probably did not realize he had secured the bargain of the season when he clinched the 3.5 million pound signing of the Paraguay international. Santa Cruz had struggled to really make the breakthrough at former club Bayern Munich but his touch, intelligent movement, superb finishing and goals made him a hit in his first season at Ewood Park.

Phil Jagielka

A few eyebrows were raised when Everton manager David Moyes decided to spend 4 million on the versatile Sheffield United player. After solid start at full back, Jagielka moved to centre of defence where he has become a revelation in an effective partnership alongside Joseph Yobo.

Lassana Diarra

After finding himself the victim of strong squads at Arsenal and Chelsea the 23 year old midfielder has shown both clubs what they have missed out on after his January transfer window move to Portsmouth. Manager Harry Redknapp has got himself a multi-talented midfielder who has been influential in their run to the FA Cup final but the question is how long can Pompey keep him?

Alex

The Brazil defender has made a virtually seamless transition to the Premier League after Chelsea finally obtained a work permit having spent three seasons on loan at PSV Eindhoven. The powerful centre-back slotted in well with Ricardo Carvalho and can perhaps feel he has been slightly hard done by when he was dropped for captain John terry after his return to fitness.

Alex over Tevez? i think not, would agree on most of the others though. dont think jagielka has had a massive impact on everton this year, he is a quality buy though. Tevez would rank among top 5 for sure. santa cruz has been the best singing in terms of value for money 3.5 million for over 20 goals is a steal.
