F.C. Barcelona

In 2008 Fc Barcelona got a new coach named “ Josep Guardiola “.

The only thing the fans and the players knew about him, was that he had played for Barcelona 1984 – 1990 he had played in the B team. 1 year later Guardiola got promoted to the A team; from 1990 – 2001 he was a member of the Barcelona team.
In 2008 Guardiola became coach. The first few pre-season matches went well. When it came to the La liga the team started quite bad.  Then came a match against Espanyol where they won 1-2.  After that game to Catalan side was unbeatable wining matches: 6-0 5-0 5-0 6-1 6-0 5-2 and so on.
Then came the El Classico. FC Barcelona vs. Real Madrid. This was the match to see how much the hard work has really paid off. The Catalan side won the game 2-0 with Eto’o and Messi scoring.

In this season there was also the Copa Del Rey and the Champions League.
In the Copa Del Rey, Barcelona was unstoppable wining every game and getting themselves into the final.
The final was Barcelona vs. Ath Bilbao. The final was nothing special, because Barcelona won 4-1 and had their first title for the year.

Back to the La liga. Near the end of the season Barcelona was at the top of the table with Real Madrid behind them with 4 points. Then came the second El Classico.  This game would decide everything. The game started and Real Madrid was in the lead. The Catalan fans started to worry and so did the players. But Henry scored and everything was level. After Thierry Henry’s goal Puyol put one in the net, and then Messi. In the half time Barca was wining 1-3 then in the 56th minute Madrid scored again. 2 minutes after that goal, Barca had scored again and again and again. The end of the game was 2-6. Barcelona went onto win the la liga as well with 87 points.

Champions Leauge. In the semi final Barca was to face off against Chelsea. The first game was 0-0 (home game for Barca). The second game was a hard one. Chelsea got the first goal in the 9th minute, and from then they were playing defensive play. For Barca it was hard to get a goal when 10 players were defending. But in the 90+3 minutes Andres Iniesta scored for Barcelona witch put them into the Champions League final where they were to face Manchester United. The final took place in Rome on the 27th of May 2009. Alot of people thought that the English team (Manchester United) would win, since they won the cup last year. The game had started and Man U was attacking non-stop. In the 10th minute Eto’o scored and put Barca in the lead.
After that goal Man U fell apart. Through out the whole game Barcelona was attacking. And in the 70th minute Lionel Messi scored the second goal for Barca. The end of the game was 2-0. They won the Champions League final!
Barca has won 3/3 cups this year. And are the best team in the world.
