England football manager Fabio Capello has stated that the team will NOT have an official World Cup song.

According to sources a number of top artists have been in touch offering to hook up with the World Cup Squad to record a traditional song in time for the 2010 finals. It would have been an almost instant hit as the English public generally rush out to buy the single that accompanies their team to the finals.

However, Capello has decided that such an offer could distract his stars in their preperation for the finals in South Africa.

According to an insider, Take That were showing interest amongst a host of other star artists.

Capello is known to be a strict leader and his focus is only for the team and their best interests. He wants to win with England and anything other than football could potentially jeapordise the player’s mental approach.
