Chelsea Winning The Champions League 2012

So….. have we all watched that Champions League final? I wasn’t even a supporter of any of the two teams, but still i was nervous as hell. After seeing Chelsea winning the semi-final i was so mad. Not only because i’m a fan of Barcelona’s style of play(from holland myself btw), but in the way Chelsea played.

I hate to say it here, and i’m sorry for all you Chelsea supporters out there, but their style of play was a disgrace throughout the whole Champions League. Since i’m not a true supporter of any of the teams i can give my non-biased opinion on how unbelievably lucky Chelsea really was and how extremely annoying they were. Not only with their style of play, but also how unsportive they are.

Imagine this: You are in the final of the CL and you are expecting both of the teams to give everything they have. Bayern Munchen was pushing and being offensive throughout the match, and then u have Chelsea….

The only thing Chelsea did for 90% of the match was defending and playing on the counter. Now get this: Bayern scores in the 82th minute. Those guys fought like lions and they score through that wall of Chelsea defenders who seem to know nothing else about soccer except for defending.

Now the fun unsportive attitude of Chelsea really came to life. David Luiz makes the first dirty foul on Arjen Robben. Not by trying to hit the ball, but out of frustration of a counter goal after 80 minutes of almost only defending and still not be able to hold the 0-0. Then some minutes later we see Ashley Cole make a foul on Thomas Muller and he’s walking away like:”What do i care?”

Then of course like the injustice strucks out of the sky, drogba scores 1-1 in the 88th minute. The guy who in other matches goes down to the ground almost every time without being hit, because he’s trying to get a free kick.

I can talk further about how Robben missed the penalty and such, and about the 2 halfs of extension, but i feel like everything has be said. And them winning with penalty’s is another painful blow, since they showed nothing during the match.

Yes, i know soccer is hard, and there’s always a team who loses, even in the CL. It’s just that how Chelsea plays and how unsportive they are is what truly bothers me. Like i said: A disgrace for the Champions League and next time please Barcelona in their spot.
