The Champions League Trophy.

IT was reported in the news today that three security personnel at Stamford Bridge have been suspended from their positions pending further enquiries, regarding an incident when The Champions League Trophy was damaged.

Chelsea Football Club apparently have the trophies they have won throughout their history under lock and key in their trophy cabinet, but as a reward to Chelsea’s staff, this trophy has been proudly on display in the open.

The three staff members, who were all off duty at the time, were on the premises when they should not have been there at all. They were taking photographs of each other with the trophy.

One of the handles on the famous trophy broke off, and it had to be sent to a silversmith’s in London for emergency repairs, the trophy is now reported to be back in its original condition.

Club chief executive Ron Gourlay was reported to be furious, and has demanded a full internal enquiry into why this incident occurred.

Apparently the trophy had been reported as damaged by one of the members of staff before this incident, and this had been reported to senior club officials.

Chelsea won the Competition last month for the first time in their history, after a penalty shoot out win over Bayern Munich.

I am glad that this beautiful trophy has been restored back to its original condition, puts a whole new meaning on the phrase, “One hand on the Cup!”

Thank you for reading and any comments are appreciated, thank you.

Sincerely,

Chris Bailie.

Maybe that is a sign that they will lose their “grip” on the trophy in the future :) can they “handle” the pressure? Will their talents “atrophy”? For Chelsea fans, I hope not.

I missed this news! But if they put it right, what is the hullaballoo all about! Abrahamovic is a very rich man, he could even get a better trophy for the Champions League!
