Aston Villa Captain Diagnosed with Leukemia
Stiliyan Petrov, 32-year-old midfielder from the Bulgaria was suffering from fever after last Saturday’s game against Arsenal and undergo medical tests. Hematologist confirmed the diagnosis of leukemia on Friday.

Petrov joined the club Aston Villa in August 2006, he transferred from Scottish club Celtic. He signed a four-year contract with his hometown club Birmingham in 2009.
Petrov perform-100 appearances for the national team to Bulgaria last year at the European Cup qualifier against Switzerland. He played for the club CSKA Sofia before moving to Celtic club in 1999.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian national team coach Mano Menezes said he doubted whether Kaka can go into the World Cup squad in 2014, he gave authority to the player’s club Real Madrid to prove that he was eligible to join.
Menezes told Brazilian television station SporTV Thursday that he believes Kaka could be a key player for the Brazilian national team in World Cup, but he said “in the upcoming tournament season will be seen whether Kaka could still play for the Brazilian national team at the World Cup. We all have doubts.”
Brazil coach says she was told Kaka he can not just be a mediocre player in the London Olympics.
Kaka joined the Brazilian national team for World Cup since 2002, but his appearance in the club Real Madrid are not the same as he showed when playing for AC Milan club.
