ARSENAL HAVING THEIR WEAPONARY WEEKENED?

Call it bad luck, or whatever you would, but it would seem every season The Arsenal football club always have to deal with a few bad injuries to their first team players. As I am writing this article , November 17th 2009, I have just got the news that our right back Karen Gibbs have just suffered an injury in an international game with Lithuania. As if that wasn’t bad enough, on Saturday the 14th, our star striker, the one and only lethal Robin Van Persie almost suffered  a complete ligament tear when he was caught up in a tough but fair tackle by the Italian defender, (sorry I cant remember his name). As it is, the guy is desperate and obviously frustrated to get an injury at the back of such a good form so much he has flown to Serbia for a house wife’s unproven but apparently working treatment of injecting him with some cow placenta liquid in his ankle. Whether it would work or not remains to be seen. Lets just hope it would for his and all of us Arsenal supporters sake. Other wise it would mean seven weeks for him on the treatment table and sidelines. As luck would have it, we already had a number off causalities prior to this injuries Nicholas Bendner, Diaby, Vela and Traore, springing to mind. The former two of course being less effective due to their more average play and laziness about their play, but always having a goal in them, something which means they would be missed, while the latter haven’t played enough to give any guarantee of any good performance. Walcott, we hear could be back this weekend, Saturday the 21st, and his pace and good finishing could be useful. If on form, we would miss Mr Van Persie very little and of course with Eduardo also being available, one can say we do still have some firing power in our front line. The little Russian, Mr Ashavin, Rosicky and Nasri, all provide enough attacking force to shake any formidable side, but one would have to pray we don’t pick any injuries if we are to continue with our hope of challenging for the title. The injury to Mr Van Persie would be felt mostly next week, the 29th of November when playing Chelsea. With no dought at all, Mr Van Persie seems to come alive mostly on the big games and with him on the squad, a goal at least would have been guaranteed. Not forgetting the Carling cup on the 2nd of December with Manchester City. No dought in my mind he wanted as revenge with one Emmanuel Adebayor, a former disgraced Arsenal striker who never rose to the expectations. Get well RVP. We Arsenal supporters love you very much and we wish you a speedy recovery. GOONER FOR LIFE.
