Aaron Lennon: Potential England Legend?
If Tottenham player Aaron Lennon can hold down some consistency, and perfect his final ball, then could we be looking at a future England legend?

Few can deny that Aaron Lennon, on his day, is terrifying for any defence. His dazzling speed and skill reflects a new generation of players hitting the English Premier League. Could he however take that brave step forwards into the realm of world class? His manager Harry Redknapp, whilst tipping him for an England call-up, has been quick to point out what is stopping him:
“He’s got that ability and that pace to go at defenders. He’s a fantastic talent, but he does need to improve his final ball.
“Sometimes he hits balls across the face of goal, they look great balls but they have got too much pace on them for anyone to deal with.”
This however doesn’t sound too unlike a certain other young talent that managed to perfect his final ball and become the world’s best player. Agreed Aaron Lennon and Cristiano Ronaldo are certainly not the same player, but their last hurdle is similar. It was not too long ago that that we were all amazed at Ronaldo’s skills and pace, but had to duck in the crowd to avoid some of his awful final balls. The only ones that have to duck now are the ones behind the net. So if Ronaldo can do it, can Lennon?
Lennon, twice nominated for ‘Young Player of the Year’ award, has always had that spark about him that promised greater things. His style is so explosive and direct that with a moment of genius he can turn a game on its head. If he makes this into a consistency, along with a perfected final ball, then he’s there. There’s no reason why he can’t become one of the most feared wingers in football. What he’s also got going for him is the guidance of Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp. Clearly Redknapp knows exactly what Lennon’s problem is, and will also have an idea of how to nurture him into the next level. If everything goes to plan, with a few England caps thrown in, then you could be looking at a future England legend.
