Ski Tips
There’s no getting away from it: snow is slippery. Skiing is all about balance- the art of staying on your feet at any speed or angle, and to stop when you want.
- Don’t tense up.
- Don’t keep your skis too close together. Develope a stable, balanced position for standing and skiing.
- Thermal clothes against your body will keep you warmer than cotton.
- Wear layers of clothing to keep you warm rather than one big item.
- One pair of socks is ample for keeping your feet warm(more than one pair will make your feet cold).
- Make sure your outer layer of clothing is waterproof, especially the bottom part.
- Wear sunglasses when it’s bright and goggles when it’s overcast or at dusk.
- Protect your skin against the sun, wind and cold. Don’t leave home without a good sunscreen because it’s easy to underestimate the strength of sunrays reflected off the snow.
- Don’t hesitate to ask for tips or help if it’s your first time on the snow.
