Skateboarding 4: The Pop-Shuvit
The Pop shuvit is a mixture of an Ollie and a shuvit it is needed for many tricks you need to learn the pop shuvit for almost all rotation tricks e.g. varial kickflip, varial heelflip, inward kickflip, inward heelflip, hardflip, motherflip and so on… the popshuvit is a nice basic trick for all skaters its easy to learn and requires little effort, all you need is to be able to do the basics (which I mensioned in my previous article) and some knowlege to do it…

The pop shuvit is basic skate trick invented in the 70s its a elaboration of the shuvit. The name describes how you do the trick (basically you shove it forward) and the pop shuvit is basically where you pop the tail down to launch the board into the air and spin it then successfully land it. Remember before you even start training you pop-shuvits you must have your shuvits down. Then start popping and then go onto harder stuff…
Instructions
- Start by learning this trick stationary, your feet have to be positioned similar to an Ollie but you should have the toes of the back foot hanging 1-2.5 cm (0.5-1 Inch) of the board.
- Bend you knees and crouch as this trick needs a high jump to give the board enough rotation time. Pop down with the tail and push the board back with your back foot to make it spin backside ( the front of the board goes forward and left)
- Once you have fully extended your knees and are coming up into the air bend you knees up to you chest to give space for the board to rotate.
- Once the board is reaching 170′ degrees you should be descending. Stretch out your legs to catch the board, but keep them slightly bent to soften the landing.
- Land the trick and ride away clean, then do it again.
