How to Do an Ollie

You ever see those skateboarders outside the supermarkets or your house? While you watch them do you wonder how they do there amazing stunts? Well it all starts with the ollie. The ollie is a simple jump on a skateboard that gives you air allowing you to do tricks.

  • Step 1:  Get a skateboard and place both your feet on it.
  • Step 2: Place one foot at the end of the skateboard and another on the opposite side’s bolts.
  • Step 3: Shift your weight to your back leg so you lift off on one wheel.
  • Step 4: Before your back Wheel touches the ground, slide your front foot up on the board therefore lifting the board up along with you.

Once in mid-air, try to re position your feet to their original position so you don’t fall.

I suggest getting certain shoes because some of them stick better because they are made for skateboarding.

Etnies, Dc’s, and osiris’s are good and there are many more to choose from.

Make sure you practice on grass first.  Or you can do it still on the street.  But remember, always wear a helmet!

If you have trouble doing this remmeber it takes a good week to get an ollie down.
