The best way to learn to conserve your air consumption while scuba diving is by diving more often and gaining experience, but as we all know not everyone can dive everyday so i wanted to point out some nice tips to help you make your dives longer and more pleasurable

  1. Control the intake of your breath, i know a lot of divers who when they think of controlling their breathing they mostly focus on breathing out slowly, but if you concentrate on breathing in slowly as well your air consumption will just about double!
  2. Move slowly and as little as possible! firstly this will reduce the amount of oxygen that your muscles need as they will be working less hard, secondly this will make it a lot easier for you to focus more on your controlled slow breathing
  3. Make big slow kicks not fast little kicks, this will help reduce the amount of oxygen your legs muscles are using which will help with tips 1 and 2
