Three Detroit Marathons Deaths
Three runners collapsed and died during the half marathon in Detroit.

After only sixteen minutes of the marathon, three men collapsed and died. This was the 32nd marathon in Detroit and the first deaths since 1994.
The first runner that collapsed was a 36 year old, Daniel Langdon of Laingsburg at 9.02 AM. Daniel was between the 11 and 12th mile of the marathon, then collapsed in Michigan Avenue.
The second runner to collapse was a 65 year old, Rick Brown, of Marietta, Ohio. He collapsed on 9.17 AM near the area Langdon collapsed. Then

Jon Fenlon collapsed, a 26 year old of Waterford. He collapsed on 9.18 AM, just after completing the half marathon in 1 hour, 53 minutes and 37 seconds.
Fenlon’s facebook page says that he works for an advertising firm Campbell-Ewald in Warren, then graduated from Eastern Michigan University. Fenlon, who made headlines after he caught Home Run Hit by Magglio Ordoñez which then sent the Tigers into the World Series.
Fenlon’s family members were too upset to comment, Brown’s family declined to comment and Langdon’s family couldn’t be reached.
Marathon’s deaths are extremely rare, 0.8/100,000 chance. The last runner to die during a marathon was 42 year old, Samuel Grafton of Troy who suffered from a heart attack just at the 22 mile point.
