, Football/soccer A game played by twenty two men and thirty thousand referee’s

, Rugby Union a game played by thirty men with odd shaped balls

, The high jump, a game played with poles, Americans, Russians, and a few others. (”Are you a pole valter”? ” no I am German but how did you know my name was valter”).

The truly international sport of American football, which includes the event of the world series, where guess who takes part? yes Americans

, Then there is ice hockey, but who gives a puck.

, Golf, a game where men and women spend hours trying to get a little ball down a hole, (with the aid of a stick) usually in the middle of nowhere and when they eventually achieve that aim they take the ball out and start again.

, Formula 1 motor racing where drivers race round a track at great speeds, and every now and then they call in at the pits for fuel, new tyres a packet of crisps, and to ask the way.

, Swimming, I’ve nothing against swimming, but in the freestyle event, does freestyle really mean front crawl.

, Angling, probably the worlds most popular participant sport where people sit by a river or lake watching a float bob up and down, and hoping a fish will eventually take the bait people can spend thousands on equipment for this sport, personally I prefer to go to the fish and chip shop, it’s cheaper, quicker, and you are guaranteed a fish at the end f it.

, Badminton a game where people like to shuttle their cocks
