Spa 08 Report

Lewis Hamilton won his 5th race of the season after a downpour for the last 5 laps at spa in Belgium. Lewis spun on the 4th lap which allowed raikonnen who jumped from 4th place to take the lead. Felipe Massa kept close behind them as he was gaining on Hamilton each lap. With 5 laps to go lap times went from 1:47’s to 3:27’s. So nick heifeld took a gamble by changing tyres for last 4 laps from 8th place which paid off and he eventually finished 3rd 1 second behind Massa. Raikonenn then spun off 4 times in one lap and him and Hamilton had a scramble for 1st place including 4 mini collisions and they went off twice. Raikonenn eventually fell behind and then smashed into the wall on the last lap. Hamilton stayed steady trying not to go off as nick heifeld stormed from 15th to 3rd in 1 lap. But after the race the stewards investigated lewis Hamilton and decided he would concede the race to massa and he dropped to 3rd allowing heifeld to go 2nd. However mclaren are appealing.
