Horse racing is a popular sport. There are two main kinds of hors racing: flat racing and jump racing, which consists of steeple chasing and hurdling.

Formula one, also known and grand prix racing, is the highest class of single-seat open –wheel formula motor racing. Grand prix races are now staged all over the world, and points are awarded for finishing places, which count towards the world championship.
Michael Schumacher, German formula one driver, is the most successful driver ever with the most career victories. He is the first to win French Grand prix eight times.
Narain Karthikeyan is India’s fastest motor –racer; first Indian ever take part in formula one.

Horse racing is a popular sport. There are two main kinds of hors racing: flat racing and jump racing, which consists of steeple chasing and hurdling. Horses usually start racing on the flat as two years olds. They are entered in the important races, known as classics like the Derby, as three year olds.
All race horses are thoroughbreds. A thoroughbred is a horse bred for racing. All male thoroughbreds are descendants of one of the three Arabian stallions which were imported into Britain during the 17th and 18th centuries and mated with European mares.
Hurdling
Hurdling is an athletic race in which runners jump over barriers set at fixed distance apart. There are two types of hurdle races: intermediate and high. In intermediate hurdle races, the hurdles are 91.4 cm high for men and 84 cm for women; the distances begin 110m for men and 100 m for women.
Hurdlers are not penalized for accidentally knocking down hurdles in their own lane but are disqualified if they allow a foot or leg to trail along the side of a hurdle or if they clear a hurdle not in their lane.
Biathlon
Biathlon is a term used to describe any sporting event up of two disciplines. However, it usually refers to the winter sport that combines cross –country skiing and rifle shooting. The competitors ski over a 20 kilometer course (15 km for women) with a rifle on their back and stop at designated points to fire at stationary targets. There are four bouts of shooting; two standing, two prone.
