This is a Review of the spyder pilot a.c.s paintball gun. The spyder pilot is a great gun for beginners to paintball. It is a very easy gun to maintain because it can be taken apart in a matter of minutes. The pilot has four different firing modes including semi, three burst, six burst and auto.
For those of you new to paintball semi means that it will fire once for every time you pull the trigger. Three burst fires up to three times depending on if your still holding the trigger down. Six burst is the same as three burst but will shoot six times. Auto means it will fire for as long as you have the trigger held down. My preferred firing rate is three burst but what firing rate you use all depends on your style of play.
The pilot also has a tournament lock so that it can legally be used in tournaments. A tournament lock is a piece inside of the gun’s handle it forces the gun to be locked in semi firing mode, to activate the lock all you have to do is remove the red cap from the gun and replace it to deactivate it. One problem a few people including me have had a problem with is very loose wiring. This meaning when u used the tournament lock one time the wiring loosened and now my pilot is stuck on tournament lock due to faulty wires.
The feature that one me over when choosing my gun was the look of the gun it has a long twelve inch barrel that is twisted and ported on the sides. Meaning it has holes used to slightly silence the gun by releasing air/co2 from the barrel. It has a C.A.M.D. (color access mode display) screen on the side on the grip. The C.A.M.D is a led board used to control firing modes and rates from six balls per second to thirteen. Some other features include vertical paintball feed, steel braided hose and a drop forward. The gun fires well for beginners to use and get used to but has a slight curve after around a hundred feet this can be adjusted but is reason for many pros and advanced players not to buy this gun. Over all i think if you are a beginner who really wants to get into paintball this is the gun for you.
