Tae-Kwon-Do: Push Kick

How to perform a push kick.

Push kick is used when your trying to push your target back either to try and throw him off balance, create the proper distance for another kick, and/or trying to make a break in his attacks to start up your own attacks or get a small break.

Performing The Kick

  1. First you must start in kicking stance.
  2. Then you must bring your kicking knee up to about 90 degrees.
  3. You must extend your elevated leg towards your taget and push them away from you with the bottom of your foot.
  4. You must then bring your leg back at another 90 degree angle before you place it on the ground.
