Outward block, along with inward block, can both be used to block middle punches.
How to perform the block:
- For this block you can start in just about any stance; however, I recommend kicking stance or back stance.
- You have to bring your blocking arm towards your opposite arm’s shoulder and outside of your other arm as the two arms make an X. Your arm should be bend at around 90 degrees.
- Finally, throw your blocking arm out in front of you, just a little bit past your body. Once this block is complete, you should be able to block a punch with your forearm while your arm is at about a 50-160 degree angle.
