Hook kick is a great kick when sparring to mix in with round house kicks and take your target off of guard. In a sparring competition, a hook kick to the head will get you 3 points.
How to Perform the Kick
- Start in kicking stance (Kicking stance is where your shoulders are pointed towards your target. Your front leg should also be pointing towards your target with your back leg at a 90 degree angle from it).
- Lift your front leg up a little bit while leaning back.
- In a slight circular motion strike your target with your heel or bottom of your foot.
