How to perform a hook kick.

Hook kick is a great kick when sparring to mix in with round house kicks and take your target off of guard. In a sparring competition, a hook kick to the head will get you 3 points.

How to Perform the Kick

  1. Start in kicking stance (Kicking stance is where your shoulders are pointed towards your target. Your front leg should also be pointing towards your target with your back leg at a 90 degree angle from it).
  2. Lift your front leg up a little bit while leaning back.
  3. In a slight circular motion strike your target with your heel or bottom of your foot.
